Cory V. McCray’s debut book, “The Apprenticeship That Saved My Life,” illuminates how mentorship, skilled trades, and second chances create powerful pathways to success for individuals and communities. Drawing on his journey from growing up in Baltimore to becoming a journeyman electrician and State Senator, McCray offers a practical guide for students exploring apprenticeships and businesses seeking to invest in talent.

Join us on Thursday, April 30, at 5:30 pm in the Van Lennep Auditorium or virtually during National Apprenticeship Week for an in-depth conversation on building stronger foundations for the next generation of workers and leaders, followed by a book signing. This event is generously sponsored by the Upper Shore Regional Folklife Center.

Whether she is leading PD to share her expertise with staff or guiding the next generation of professionals as the NTHS advisor, he is constantly investing in and strengthening our community.
